St. John's Creative Partnership with the National Eucharistic Congress
My home parish, St. John the Evangelist in downtown Indianapolis, was honored to be the host parish and official Adoration Chapel of the 2024 National Eucharistic Congress. Given our proximity to the event, we partnered with the national organization to develop creative promotional assets to drive interest and awareness of the Congress via digital channels and onsite signage.
#mybodygivenforyou
campaign
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is My Body given for you'"
- Luke 22:19.
Today, "my body" usually precedes "my choice" - the world calls us to choose ourselves. But Christ's radical message is the opposite: "My body, GIVEN FOR YOU." Through the Eucharist, Jesus enables us to freely give ourselves away in love.
The saints witness to this reality, sharing in Christ's Eucharistic life of self-giving love. This campaign I created draws on their sacrificial witness to inspire curiosity and love toward Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
While Eucharistic theology can be difficult to grasp, its effects are easily recognized in our saints' extraordinary self-sacrifice. As the Emmaus disciples recognized Christ in the breaking of bread, so too might others begin to see Him in the breaking of our greatest saints for others.
This campaign was aimed at the religiously unaffiliated and local Indianapolis residents, and took the form of ad sets, onsite signage, and a website featuring introductory content on the Eucharist, as well as long-form stories of parishioner conversions and promotional tie-ins to long-form podcast content developed by our pastor to promote the Congress. The website also had a form submission for visitors to share their own witness testimonies, which could be posted as future content.
